Dr. Saroj Prasad Ojha

Dr. Saroj Prashad Ojha has been serving as the Head of the Department of Psychiatry at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital since 2015. With an extensive academic and leadership career, Dr. Ojha previously held the position of Assistant Dean at the Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University. Additionally, Dr. Ojha has served as the immediate past President of the Nepal Epilepsy Society, Past President of the Psychiatrist Association of Nepal, Past Vice President of the Nepal Medical Association, and Past President of AMDA Nepal. Dr. Ojha has made significant academic contributions, including publishing over 45 articles in peer-reviewed journals and serving as the principal investigator of the National Mental Health Survey of Nepal in 2020. He co-authored "Mental Health System in Nepal," published by WHO and MOHP in 2007, and contributed two book chapters to postgraduate psychiatry. Furthermore, Dr. Ojha has supervised more than 25 postgraduate MD Psychiatry and M.Phil. Clinical Psychology theses for Tribhuvan University and two Ph.D. theses for the University of Oslo, Norway. In recognition of these contributions, the Nepal Government awarded Dr. Ojha the Suprabal Janasewa Shree on 1st Baishakh 2079.
