Suraj B. Thapa MD, MPhil, PhD is currently working as a Professor and Head of Research- Division of Mental Health & Addiction, Institute of Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo and Head of Research- Division of Mental Health & Addiction, Oslo University Hospital. He is also a Visiting Professor, Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He is trained psychiatrist from Norway and CBT and EMDR therapist with two decades clinical and research experiences mostly from Norway but also from Nepal. He has been helping Nepal in mental health through several collaborative projects between Nepal in Norway in psychiatry, clinical psychology and child and adolescent psychiatry. His major clinical and research interests in Trauma and stress (PTSD/Complex PTSD), Psycho-oncology, Spirituality & mental health, Biologiocal and genetic markers in mental illnesses, Transcultural psychiatry, Perinatal psychiatry, Migration and global mental health, capacity building in LMICs.
